The methodology provides users with a proposal for critical control points that directly affect health status, production and reproductive indicators, and which can be used in a comprehensive assessment of influence of the level of biosecurity on the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance. In each farm, when analysing the level of biosecurity, it is necessary to focus attention on these critical control points with regard to maintaining and gradually improving the health status of farmed animals and reducing the amount of antimicrobial substances used, and at the same time reducing the potential risk of the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance.
