Vaccination strategies with intensive use in livestock farms are considered as the highest alternative to antibiotic use immediately after improving the level of biosecurity on the farm. As part of the project designed, we have focused our attention on the possibility of assessing the impact not only of immunoprophylaxis alone, such as active immunization after vaccination, but also of prophylaxis in a broader scale on the consumption of antimicrobials in food animals. We have defined for this purpose eight areas of evaluation that should contribute to reduce the incidence of infectious diseases through the control and prevention based primarily on immunity and biosecurity with the aim to achieve reduction in consumption of antimicrobials.
