The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of the age of grouping of calves on their growth and health and to propose an appropriate rearing management. The four-year study was performed in 120 Holstein calf (from birth to 60 days of age) which were placed in the individual pens immediately after their birth. After then 40 calves were moved to pair-housing at the age of 8, 16 and 31 days. The calves were being weighed in weekly intervals and health were recorded once a day.
